Drain Cleaning

Home cleanliness is not only determined with shiny floor tiles, and dust-free furniture and other equipment. Cleanliness must also be observed even in the most private and hidden areas of the house like its drainage system. Whether you like or not, you should at least devote one day per week for drain cleaning. The pipes and drainage may be considered the sewage system of the house; still, you have to keep it free from bad odors and clogging.

Some Reasons of clogging and Odors

The house drainage system may be clogged because there are insoluble and non-biodegradable items stuck along the way. Without you knowing it, your hair can block the shower drainage. Thus, you may consider removing the hair in the bathroom tiles and tub drain after bathing. A clogged drain can also be possible if there is so much mildew and fungi that have grown in the linings of the pipes. Clogging can also be caused with the growth of tree root from a nearby tree in the yard. If clogging happens, soap residue and other flushed materials may just stay in the surface and may give off bad odor. If these things will rot in the surface, there is also a tendency that insects and other germs will flock and feed on them thus contaminating the whole environment.

Simple Tips on Drain Cleaning

To get rid of insoluble materials like oil and soap residue from clinging along the pipes, it will be useful to pour very hot water after a few days of using the sink or your bathroom. Hot water will facilitate drain cleaning in its first level by removing oils and getting rid of bacteria. If clogging persists, you may consider pouring a strong brine solution to prevent oil and grease from building up the drainage. White vinegar and lemon juice have strong acidic properties that may help in neutralizing grease build-up. If ever, natural chemicals have not done its job in unclogging your kitchen sink, you may now consider using other synthetic chemicals. Strong chemicals are also proven to destroy any root and plant growth in your drainage system.

In using strong chemicals in drain cleaning, it is best to take extra precautions as some of them may cause a burning sensation in your palm. These chemicals like caustic soda may even irritate your skin. You may also need the help of experts in drain cleaning, if ever you need help in tough cleaning jobs.
